Welcome to the Prostate Cancer Center of Seattle
In 1985, Drs. Blasko and Grimm pioneered  modern prostate brachytherapy in the US. Along with their colleagues, they have treated over 10,000 patients and trained over 6,000 physicians, nurses and physicists  to perform seed implantation.  In 1997 , under their direction, along with Dr Sylvester, they established the Seattle Prostate Institute with a primary interest  in improving prostate Brachytherapy. In 2009, we established a new center,  the Prostate Cancer Center of Seattle,  as a premier center for  the diagnosis and treatment  of  primary and recurrent prostate cancer. Our center is dedicated to finding the the best prostate cancer treatment option for you.
 In the News
Should I screen for prostate cancer? Prostate cancer (PC) is the second leading cause of cancer-related mortality in men, with approximately 28,000 deaths per year. Screening for PC with the prostate-specific antigen (PSA) test carries some controversy, and patient questions arise about whether to have a PSA test, when, and how to interpret the test results .
PSA screening has reduced prostate cancer mortality up to 31%, according to findings from the European Randomized Study of Screening for Prostate Cancer (ERSPC).
The most serious complications…appeared more often in men who underwent minimally invasive surgery.
