“About 90 percent of cancer deaths are related to metastasis, but now we’ve found a way to dispatch an army of killer white blood cells that cause apoptosis – the cancer cell’s own death obliterating them from the bloodstream. When surrounded by these, it becomes nearly impossible for the cancer to escape.”Essentially, the cancer cell kills itself because of the injected protein. This is life changing news. When a cancerous tumor spreads the cancer cells in the body, it is the most dangerous and deadly stage of cancer. Now because of Nano-technology, Nano particles that look like small super bubbles can be injected into the blood before radiotherapy or surgery. Professor King told the BBC media in the UK, “The data shows a dramatic effect. The results show in human blood and in mice. After two hours of blood flow, the tumor cells have literally disintegrated.”
So far the evidence shows that there is no ill-effect on the immune system. Professor King commented that “there’s a lot of work to be done. Various breakthroughs are needed before this could be used to benefit patients.
Break through medical research brings hope to cancer patients and their families. Cancer survivors rejoice at any news that a cure might eradicate cancer once and for all. The following excerpt is a patient’s story off the pages of cancer.org.
Frances had a mastectomy for breast cancer. She has completed chemotherapy and radiation to her chest. Her doctor has told her that no cancer can be found in her body. Even though she will be seen in his office every four to six months for the next five years, her doctor seems to think the worst is over. But it’s hard for Frances to trust that the cancer is gone. She wants to know the chances of the cancer coming back.
“I feel like if I knew my exact chances of the cancer coming back, I could deal with it. But when I ask my doctor, he gives me a range of statistics over a number of years. I can’t live like this. I need more specifics.”Frances shares many of the common concerns a person has once they have completed cancer treatment, or at least the main portion of it. She wants to feel as if she’s conquered the illness and can really call herself a cancer survivor but she’s living with the unknown. Frances wants to put the experience behind her, but she’s afraid that the cancer may come back and she will be reliving it all again soon. She wants to know the odds of the cancer coming back. But what she really wants is to know that she will never have cancer again.
Medical Research that brings us one step closer to cancer becoming eradicated brings fresh hope to the entire world. Deadly diseases like polio, small pox no longer plague our lives. Someday, with the help of scientific research, cancer will be part of history. A cure that kills cancer cells that will be part of everyday medicine is on the near horizon. Keep your ears open for the sound of victory.
