Cure Kills Cancer Cells in Circulation Study Reveals

A study at Cornell University has found a way to inject a cancer killing protein called Trail that cures the circulation of cancer cells. Trail has previously been used in cancer trials successfully. When the protein is injected into the bloodstream it latches onto white blood cells and targets any tumor cells which may have broken off the main tumor.

This study about “trail-coated” leukocytes that kills cancer cells while in circulation was published in the Journal Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences online the week of January 6. Michael King, Bio-medical engineering professor at Cornell University and the senior author of the study said

“About 90 percent of cancer deaths are related to metastasis, but now we’ve found a way to dispatch an army of killer white blood cells that cause apoptosis – the cancer cell’s own death obliterating them from the bloodstream. When surrounded by these, it becomes nearly impossible for the cancer to escape.”

Essentially, the cancer cell kills itself because of the injected protein. This is life changing news. When a cancerous tumor spreads the cancer cells in the body, it is the most dangerous and deadly stage of cancer. Now because of Nano-technology, Nano particles that look like small super bubbles can be injected into the blood before radiotherapy or surgery. Professor King told the BBC media in the UK, “The data shows a dramatic effect. The results show in human blood and in mice. After two hours of blood flow, the tumor cells have literally disintegrated.”
So far the evidence shows that there is no ill-effect on the immune system. Professor King commented that “there’s a lot of work to be done. Various breakthroughs are needed before this could be used to benefit patients.

But what she really wants is to know that she will never have cancer again.
