Kelly Family Rallying Ahead of Cancer Treatment

NEW YORK, NY - Jim Kelly begins a seven week regimen of radiation and chemotherapy today as he continues to battle a recurrence of cancer.
The treatment is designed to attack the microscopic cancer cells which have spread throughout his face.
Over the weekend, Kelly spoke with 2 On Your Side's Scott Levin and thanked fans for their prayers and support.
Jim, his wife Jill, and their oldest daughter Erin conducted separate interviews with Levin on Saturday morning in New York City.
All three admitted, cancer has shown them a side of Jim they have never seen before.
"I've never seen him be weak and vulnerable, the way I have," said Jill. "In the midst of that, I have witnessed such strength of character. He has been in a place that he did not feel good at all... he's been so selfless."
Kelly's family is by his side at Lenox Hill hospital in New York City. On Monday, Kelly begins a seven week treatment regimen of radiation and chemotherapy. The idea is to attack the microscopic cancerous cells that are spread throughout his face.
In March, it was announced that Kelly's jaw cancer had returned after he had surgery last year. Kelly then went to New York City to continue his treatment.
On Saturday, Levin was told that Kelly's pain was a "9 out of 10."
The pain Kelly is dealing with is taking a toll on the famously tough hall of famer.
"I remember him coming to the office one day and shutting the door and just saying 'I can't take it anymore'." said Dan Kelly.
The Kelly family also asked that Two On Your Side share a photo taken of Jim earlier in the week when he was fitted for mask for TRU beam radiation treatment that begins Monday.
This weekend, Kelly is out of the hospital and even attended a New York Knicks basketball game on Friday. It served as a reward for his daughter Erin, 18 who made the deans list during her first semester at Liberty University in Virginia.
Despite her youth, Erin is proving to be the person her father gains strength from.
"He's physically weak. I kind of felt like I got to be strong for him," said Erin. "I'm his little girl but I was able to kind of carry the strength for him."
Scott Levin was able to speak with the Kelly family about the prognosis for Jim and how faith is helping them through this difficult time.
